Ancestral Wellspring Collective

Ancestral Wellspring Collective (AWC) is a healing justice initiative providing trauma-informed peer support and community-rooted care for Black women and Women of Color (BIWOC). Our work centers dignity, cultural resonance, and accessibility for survivors, caregivers, and community members navigating grief, burnout, and systemic inequity.

AWC offers free and sliding-scale 1:1 peer support sessions for BIWOC, as well as The Grief Nest, a free weekly peer support circle dedicated to Black women. Through our herbal care arm, Renegade Apothecary, we provide free or low-cost wellness support to Black women, BIWOC birth workers, and community organizations serving survivors and caregivers.

Starting in Spring 2026, AWC will expand its offerings to include 1:1 and small group restorative retreats for BIWOC, focused on rest, grief tending, and nervous system care. We are currently seeking partnerships with retreat centers, land stewards, wellness spaces, and sponsors to support these retreats through donated space, in-kind resources, and program funding.

AWC operates through a reparative giving model, where community donations, sponsorships, and philanthropic support directly subsidize access to care. This structure ensures that Black women and BIWOC most impacted by systemic and relational harm receive culturally grounded support without financial barriers.

Our mission is to expand access to survivor-informed support and herbal mutual aid that centers the emotional, cultural, and nervous system needs of Black women and BIWOC. With sustained funding, AWC will continue building a community-based infrastructure where healing is accessible, leadership is rooted in lived experience, and care is supported as a shared responsibility.
