WHY WE ARE RAISING FUNDS
As The 418 Project enters its next chapter, we’re investing in improvements that will make our space more welcoming, accessible, durable, and inspiring for everyone who walks through our doors.
The current floor was designed and built by the community, and was expected to last 5 years up until now. We have heard that some in our community are no longer able to use the floor due to it’s condition. So the time has come to do it right and set us up for longevity.
New Floor Improvements:
- Floating on rubber isolators
- Maple Hardwood Top
- Repairable and Durable Finish
- 30+ year expected lifetime
This is the same design as other theater floors and school gymnasiums. It’s the safest and most well known floor design for high impact activity.
This isn’t simply a construction project. It’s an investment in the future of community arts in Santa Cruz.
